Translation:
We can revive the only indigenous language of Aotearoa, through speaking
Our language and protocols that have been passed onto us.
We need to speak our indigenous language in all our schools in Aotearoa, it is our treasure that has been handed onto us by those who have gone before us. It is also the aspirations of most New Zealanders that our treasure is retained for our future generations.
Learning frameworks/policies such as: Ka Hikitia (Mainstream schools) Te Aho Matua (Maori immersion schools) Have been implemented for this purpose. The retaining and revitalisation of Te Reo.
Last years Y8’s have left our school to go to secondary school, so, it’s now the duty of our new Y7 and Y8’s to keep ‘Te Reo’ active in our school for our younger students when we leave and they become the leaders of our school.

Seek the hidden treasures
Seek the hidden treasures
Concealed in the basket of lore
It is said they were the baskets of communication
The basket of relationship, the basket of relationship
What is the third basket?
The basket of emotions
Aspiration, our desires
It is the pillar of faith
It is the pillar of hope
The pillar is said to be peace
The pillar is love
The pillar is love
Seek and obtain these hidden treasures
